Department of Liquor and Lottery Lieutenant Graduates FBI National Academy

Berlin, Vt. – The Department of Liquor and Lottery (DLL) is proud to announce the graduation of Lt. Brandon King from the FBI National Academy, Session 289. Lt. King graduated on March 15 at a ceremony in Quantico, Virginia, after 10 weeks of intensive law enforcement training. He was nominated by Department leadership, and later selected by the Academy to attend the invitation-only course.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy offers ten weeks of advanced training in communication, leadership, and fitness. To attend, participants must have proven records at their home-state agency or department. Attending officers average 21 years of law enforcement experience. The 289th session consisted of one-hundred and ninety-seven law enforcement officers from 47 states and the District of Columbia. The class included members of law enforcement agencies from 23 countries, four military organizations, and five federal civilian organizations.

Lt. King is a Marine Corps veteran with over 20 years of law enforcement experience. His career began at the University of Vermont Police in 2004, where he was eventually promoted to the rank of Sergeant, overseeing the operations of various patrol shifts. In 2020 Lt. King transitioned to DLL, achieving his current rank in 2022 when he took on management of day-to-day operations of the Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE). He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at American Military University.

“Lt. King’s professionalism and dedication sets the example, not only at the Office of Compliance and Enforcement, but throughout the Department. I know we will continue to directly benefit from Lt. King’s ongoing commitment to service, and his newly enhanced leadership skills.” Said DLL Commissioner Wendy Knight.”
